I walked up to the store this morning to a notice taped to my front window. It turns out that there will be construction between April 17th (6 pm) and 20th (7 am) on Bank Street involved with the sewer, watermain and road renewal on James Street and Kent Street
Bank Street will be closed to all but local traffic between Somerset Street and Gladstone Avenue during this time, so that means no street parking, traffic back-ups and detours. As such, I would recommend NOT coming downtown this weekend unless absolutely necessary. There is a paid parking lot behind the bookstore at the corner of Bank and Frank (I imagine that they will jack the prices up), as well as street parking on the surrounding side streets but I would avoid the area altogether.
Almost all of the items in the store are available online so I would suggest that you take a look and maybe order for pickup next week or for delivery (orders over $150 are free).
The likelihood that I will not be open on Saturday is very high so please come before I close on Friday or wait until Tuesday. Call the store to see if I'm here at (613) 327-4099. I will put a message on the voicemail to let people know if I'm open or not.
